Hello All,

I have been browsing this site for the topic dependent pass for quiet some time now. i have seen that this topic is widely discussed in here but i just got more confused so am stating the facts ..please advice.

I am in sg since last 8 months . i was an hr professional with 2 yrs of work exp earlier . i quiet my job 4 yrs back...so have not worked in sg before .
We plan to stay in Sg for long term so i plan to start work. i just wanted few tips on the following.
1) work culture in human resource . and job availability for a person an dependent pass.
2)is it possible just like the US to work for few months and take break for few months here .( what happens of ep when quit the job)
3) can i apply for an ep??

Hope to find a solution
Thanks and Regards
Janice.

If you are on a DP and you find a job they most likely will get a Letter Of Consent and not an EP for you. At the moment you quit your job, you may go back to your DP if you are here married with a husband on EP. If you just want to work occasionally, as I read out from you post, meaning if you'd like to do some freelance work or similar you are better off with another pass, as on DP you can't freelance. PR or other pass which I don't remember the name.

You're getting it backwards. You've got to get a job offer before any pass or LOC is issued. These are applied for by your new employer.
