I ordered a few books over the internet from a UK book seller who ships internationally for free over 7 weeks ago. I contact them a few weeks back to see where the books where and was told that they had been sent to me in Singapore rather than to the UK address I stated them to be posted to (I was in the UK for a month and thought it easier for a UK co. to send them there - duh!!). I got a really snotty email from them offering no apology and saying that they would have to wait until I received them in Singapore and sent them back before they could refund me. I said I would of course keep them if I received them in Singapore and got no reply to that. I've not waited for over 7 weeks for them to arrive and still no sign of them.

Does anyone know what my rights are here? Am I entitled to ask for my money back. After all the mistake is theirs in the first place and I have no products either way.

Won't be using them again. I can understand problems shipping internationally but I can't be doing with snotty customer service when I've been really reasonable.

Let me guess: book depository?

I once ordered textbooks from them and it took 8 weeks for them to arrive. I was ropable as I needed them to complete an assignment.

Since then, I know others who've had the same experience. They are incredibly slow. But I guess you get what you pay for, eh?

I BIG HEART Book Depository.  I've had nothing but undelivered books over here with Amazon.  It took 3 months to get books I ordered in November FOR Christmas.  ARGH!  Glad I wasnt depending on that for a Christmas present for DH.

I thought I'd give them a second chance in March.  Nah!  Never received the books.

I'm even an Amazon affiliate....I will not order from them over here.

Cuts down on my spending.   Tongue

That's unfortunate.  I've been ordering from Amazon UK for years whilst living here and I have never had to wait overly long for anything to be delivered.  If items are in stock they usually arrive within 10 days.

They've probably sent them via surface mail as it's cheaper.  My in-laws did that by mistake one year with Christmas presents - they sent them in early December and we got them in February  Smiley
