I have 2 boys aged 2 and 6. They are constantly hungry between meals. I do not think that I am underfeeding them at meal time as they usually have a proper meal (a huge bowl of porridge and fruit, then lunch and dinner is protein+veggies+carbs, bread and a dessert). They both drink at least 0.5 litre of milk a day also. Between meals they are constantly badgering me for snacks and telling me they are hungry. It may seem like they eat a lot but neither of them are overweight, although they are big for their age. They are both super active. I sound most of my day getting things from the kitchen for them especially between 2 and 5pm (dinner time). They always still manage to polish off their dinner despite the snacks.
I need a pot of healthy snacks. Any ideas?

If you haven't already Home made muesli bars, fruit smoothies, yoghurt, cheese & crackers, fruit salad, sultanas. I wish had your boys, it's a constant battle to get my son to eat most things healthy or otherwise.

Dates, prunes, coconut, nuts, bananas. Just leave a bowl of fruit out and let them help themselves.
I also make up a weekly batch of small muffins using this recipe: A cup of almond meal (no need to be exact though), an egg, mashed banana, grated carrot, a little honey if you like, - then I add blueberries, peaches or whatever is in the pantry, dates and coconut work well. Bake for 20-30 mins. They are dense but tasty and healthy.

even a good old bag of chips or ice cream cones a few times a wk isn't all that bad if you alternate with other healthy options. the key is moderation and including fresh veg with any unhealthy delish options.
if i have time or have some energy to be more bothered .... snacks can be made more elaborate: chicken wings with celery sticks and baby carrots. diced sausages again with either fresh fruit or veggies, wholegrain sandwiches with sliced BBQ sweet meat (the Bee Chun Heng type), kebab sticks (rather like satay but simpler. fresh beef or chicken chunks with veggies - all grilled).

We have bottomless pits too.
We always keep plenty of fresh fruit. Many times they want cut up apples and peanut butter.
I also buy a huge box of crackers and put them in a ziplock bag so they can get their own.
Also, they LOVE bread...with butter or peanut butter. Also, pandan bread. We will sure miss that when we go home.
