Hi

New here and trying to determine if both my wife and I need to take the employment orientation program prior to hiring a maid?  Just one of us?  both?  Can't find this specific bit of info anywhere...just says "employer"...

thanks

Yes just uno - but the uno who will be employing her - i.e. she will not be employed by both of you, but either one of you so the one who is employing her has to do it!  Phew... Did you understand that?Huh

It is a good idea to make your wife the employer, if she is the one who will instruct the maid and generally supervise. You can provide your employment details, tax clearance, whatever, but make your wife the employer. This is especially useful if things go pearshaped while you are out of the country on business and said maid needs to be frogmarched to the airport. It will also send the message to the maid that your wife is to be taken seriously, since she has the power to fire her.
