To parent with child at UWC also with dyslexia - was the school supportive?  Did the teachers actually take measures to help her?

Yes they were very supportive.  She had help from learning support from Grade 1.  She dropped her second language and had learning support in a group of 2 or 3 during that time.  We did get a private tutor for a couple of years as she needed one-to-one help to get her back on track and the school only offered small group lessons.  She remained in learning support until Grade 6, then took up a second language and dropped the learning support lessons.  The class teachers were very open to advice from the learning support staff, regarding teaching style, use of times table squares to aid her in mainstream classes.
