Phuket with 8yr & 6yr

I stayed at the JW Marriott last year and I feel some of the past posts were written by Marriott employees!

It is waaaay secluded at the Marriott, you feel miles away from anything... the "shack restaurants" are lousy and overpriced, the only decent one is Kin Dee, which is a tad overrated.

Mai Khao beach has really powerful waves, can't imagine a child swimming there.

Sure the hotel is excellent and they have an ok kids club, but nothing you can't get anywhere else.

Yes it is close to the airport, but you will waste more time getting to Patong which has a lovely beach with plenty of space for kids to run around.

I have nothing against the Marriott hotel, it is very nice, just very secluded and the kids will really appreciate playing at Patong beach which has a lot more space and shallow water to wade in.
