o Scarbowl how your post made me laugh ...If you truly want to believe that all local schoolkids (including expat kids at local schools) ride on overcrowded buses without seat belts or air con go ahead! The fact is all kids at local schools (well the 2 that mine go to) are strapped in by the bus uncles & aunties & are fully air conditioned & there is no roaming around the buses which are very modern in comparison to some of the ones that I see that Eton House & OFS use! Also my friends who's kids who go to the Aussie school have told me about the food fights & screaming matches on their buses (younger kids being quite upset by this) with nary the bus uncle or aunty doing any controlling. One thing about the local kids they know they'll get into trouble if they act up on the bus (& I want my kids behaving).

By the way I pay $150 per month per each child for air con mini bus WITH seat belts (across shoulder as well as lap). I'm NOT being ripped off either!!!!  Wink

Didn't some 5 year-old expat kid fall asleep and get left on a school bus a few years ago and they found him in the back of the bus in Tuas after the driver had finished his shift? Apparently the Auntie had got off near her home before all the kids finished being dropped off.

How's that for getting your money's worth.

Only one minor incident in a few years? Money well spent, I'd say!
