The logic of this OP completely escapes me.
From what I can work out they are considering moving back to the UK solely so that their child can benefit from the perceived advantage gained from attending an independent school. They admit that their child is doing well here and they are happy with the school.
I am obviously missing something but what I am not sure.

I am not leaving Singapore because I think schools in the UK are better. My husband has been offered a very good job in England which will really help his career, we are a bit "over" living here and are happy to go back and put down roots. At the end of the day the decision whether he wants to take the job is ours. One of my hesitations is that my son likes his school and is doing well. I have been hesitating over this. Now that I am a little more clearer about the level of schooling, I am happier about our decision to relocate.
There is no snobbery involved. In this day and age, I think it is important to make the most of education.

I would be very wary of making any decision based on posts on this board. A lot of people on here have their own agendas and insecurities. They use this board to vent and bolster their own fragile egos. Your situation is unique to you and your child may be very different to theirs. Good luck with your move anyway.

Please don't delude yourself about Dulwich College Singapore being an offshoot of Dulwich College London. Some research shows that Dulwich College Management International is a franchise agreement and the only links with the school in London are the name and the fact that some of the fees parents will be paying will go to the school in the UK. The term 'the first British Independent School. ' in Singapore is open to interpretation. If you believe that a commercial organization running a school in Singapore fits that description then good luck to you.

I agree. Having lived here for so long I am very much of the opinion that when companies come here, they leave the best practice they have been used to at the airport. Lots of companies here would be strung up for misrepresentation back home. You only have to look at the advertisements along the east coast for condos to see this. We actually enquired about one condo as we seriously thought that they were going to build a condo on the beach, based on the pictures. Their ads led us to believe it. Turns out they are on Marine Parade Road which is actually 2 streets back, about 1K from the beach. Dulwich College could just turn out to be another example of the emperors new clothes.
