Is there a point keeping in touch with someone you know you are never going to meet? Just a thought on a bright Sunday afternoon after 2 glasses of beer (I must admit  )

Your post is rather vague.  "never going to meet" - Are you referring to some situation where you got to know a person through Facebook or internet chat where you communicate online and chances are, you are not going to meet them in person?

Not knowing the details, it's hard for people to offer advice.

If you enjoy talking to them then yes I think so.  I doubt any of us here are going to meet but we still use the site.
