We are considering to send our kids to a school where lessons are given in German and English. Does someone have experience with the GESS or the Swiss-school? Advantages / disadvantages for those schools? Thanks for lots of responds!!!!!

Hi! How old is your child? The Swiss school goes only until Grade 6; the kindergarden has limited hours a day, I think 4 only - as far as I know. As for quality of teaching I think both are great schools

They are twins and 6 years old. So I assume that they will go to the Primary school (I do not know that much about the schoolsystem in Singapore yet)

Are they not teaching German in their respective accents?  I am told that a Swiss accent sounds quite funny to a German.

Swiss school does not teach in English, only English as a foreign language to those who do not speak it.  GESS teaches in English with streamed daily german lessons in the Euro section or German with streamed english lessons in the German section.  They also do bilingual cca's.  My 3 kids are at GESS and they love it but your decision may have to depend on what Grades your kids are going into as GESS is pretty full in the lower grades as their lower than average teacher:pupil ratios are popular.

I have no knowledge of the Swiss School as both my children (Grade 1/Grade3) are at GESS.  They started in August and both absolutely love it.  The class size is about 18 in each of their grades.  They are in the Euro Section so are taught in English and take a German lesson everyday.  Having recently switched from one school to the GESS I am very pleased to have done so as so far it has worked out  very well
