Does anyone know where fresh or frozen sardines are available? All i see in the market are canned ones, and that too mostly in tomato sauce. I'm really fond of fried sardines and am dying to find out where i can get some to fry! anyone know?

I've seen them occasionally at the big Geylang wet market. It's been a hit or miss for me so when I do find them, I buy several kilos and freeze them.

It's usually sold by the stall beside the guy who sells only prawns and has a distinct sound to his voice (don't know what he's shouting but can definitely hear him from afar)

Yes quite delicious racks of about ten sardines ready for the grill for as little as $4.50 at the Japanese deli inside Parkway Parade, basement floor.
They are frozen but taste good and quite a romantic starter; they glow in the dark! (Just kidding).  Roll Eyes
