Now, let's be clear, the new I-Phone has a Flash Player and does a lot more than screen-wobble when I slide my fingers over it, right?

No, and yes.

As a matter of fact, may I take this opportunity to enquire from those who are better informed, just exactly what stunning new features does the new I-Phone possess, which previous versions do not?

Five things:

A faster processor. This means you'll be able to play Angry Birds without any jerkiness, and if you choose to use a Flash emulator it will drain your battery just that much faster.

A better camera. 8MP (up from 5MP) and supposedly better optics, along with gyro stabilization for shooting video. Video can also now be shot in 1040p.

Is available in a 64GB version (instead of only 16 & 32 GB). The iPhone 4 is also now only available in 8GB, which lowers it's cost quite a bit.

Siri - A voice commanded assistant that I'll reserve comment on until I've seen it work first hand.

A redesigned antenna system that has true diversity (transmit and receive through separate antenna systems) and is supposed to help with the dropped call problem of the 4.

Quite frankly, I couldn't care less about this Iphone or 5, 6, 7 in the near future. That said, I must pay tribute to Steve Jobs & co for their entrepreneurial success and innovativeness

It is sad whenever anyone, especially someone with a young family, fights so hard against such a debilitating disease and loses.

When the guy is brilliant and innovative with so much to contribute, we are all losers.

I even forgive him for flogging me an I-Pad which rejected a Flash Player, had no SIM card and  was therefore useless, but I carry this loss silently, with dignity. 

As for the new I-Phone, this voice command is something to be avoided. I had this feature on a Nokia phone and during one conversation I spoke a guy's name and explained how I considered him unprofessional. Yes, following the mention of his name my Nokia called him up and he hasn't spoken to me since.

well I am not getting one as it will just look exactly the same as my iphone 4.  The galaxy 2s or the htc sensation are the 2 leaders at the moment then in terms of bling. the 2 s has more bling tho I think.

The htc is an abomination. Mine had serious touch-screen issues and just like a PP this would dial from the directory without any command whatsoever. I called Taiwan many times and never did get proper service here in Singapore.

The I-Phone is unreliable as a phone and its add-ons are inaccurate.
In my experience the antenna/reception needs improving. The reception is poor and it takes ages for mine to lock-on to singnet when I return from overseas or even searching for service providers overseas. In fact dialing a number in Singapore can take forever. Let's face it, its a phone first and foremost; I have a camera!

Secondly, my GPS has a fixed error and again, reception is poor.

Before gouging the public with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.....I-Phones they should get it right.
