Why do so many expat parents insist on letting their kids ride scooters through the shopping malls here? Half the time the kids crash into things or people. I honestly want to trip the little buggers then swing the scooter at their moron mums and dckheaded dads heads. Have some consideration for the rest of us out there? First it's the monster truck prams and now these peewee free wheelers.

It's even worse when they flip you the finger as they race by, having narrowly missed taking out your archilles tendon. Piano wire could work? Especially if they've got a bit of speed up.

Why? Because there is nothing to do in singapore with the kids.

Is that a serious question??!!

What is there to do in Singapore with the kids.... lets see..... endless swimming, beach trips, fantastic parks with playgrounds to scoot/cycle/walk round, pony rides, tons of great indoor play centres, zoo, bird park, pottery cafes, theatre, cinemas.... plus all the normal thousands of things you can do with your kids at home!

In which shopping malls do children race around on scooters?  I've never seen it happen, but want to keep it that way.  Although, if you're referring to Tanglin Mall, then I'm safe; hate that place.

Tanglin Mall is one place I've seen them running around. And yeah, I also only go there if I absolutely have to.

Another place I've seen kids riding around on scooters is Golden Mile Complex. Apparently it isn't just western expat kids  Wink

Nothing to do so you decide to bring the kid to the mall for scootering? Wow you're the parent of the year. What did you do when you were dating your spouse? Watch previews at Lido while drinking free water at McDs?

Yes, Tanglin Mall is rather disgusting - all that flabby freckled flesh and frizzy dyed and permed hair.

where to take kids between 10am-4.30pm when it's too stinking hot to go outside? Hooray for the mall, I'd let 'em gallop a draught horse through one if it gets ém off my back for 10 minutes on a sunday.

And pray tell, where are these fabled beaches to take the kids too? Sure you dont mean east coast? Or the pristine waters of sentosa perhaps?

you either brought your kids here or had them here - don't blame Singapore for you making your own choices.  And since when has it been too hot here to use a pool?  Go to a water park? Go to a movie? Do things like kindergolf, taekwondo, the various children's play areas?  Go to a museum?

Or, dare I say it, stop being a useless parent and try and entertain or play with them in your home - cooking, baking, board games, reading.

You need your head read.

Sentosa and East Coast aren't great but the kids can definitely go in the water without issue. Why have the kids if they are such a hindrance?

Scooters in malls? Cheeky tykes!
Before you know it, they'll bring their bikes

Causing mayhew, trouble and stress
So mummy can have peace - to buy her dress

Coffee and shopping, the expats joy
Sod the kids, give 'em a toy

Parental attention seems to be no more
Too many mummies find their kids a bore

That's crappe, frappe
