I am due to be travelling to Bali on Monday and a little concerned re yesterdays earthquake. It is apparently the biggest in over 100 years.
What is really worrying me is that on reading I have found there have been 5 earthquakes in Indonesia since August 22.
Does anyone know if this is quite normal activity in the region. I have not been able to find any other info.
Thank you

was there another one this afternoon?   Personally, I think the frequency and magnitude of earthquakes has been increasing for some years and that we are heading for some pretty big ones.  Perhaps the 2012 prophecy has some merit?

following the recent quake I was just reading that "experts" are expecting  a biggy soon due to the fact that extra tension has built up in the Sunda Trench following the 2004 disaster.
I was shocked to read tho that there are no tsunami warning systems in place in Bali although this would not help Bali if there were a local event as it is only 20mins by tidal wave from the fault line.
Not sure I will be rushing back anytime soon now:-(
