Dear all,

The reason why I am posting here is beacuse I know there are many knowledgeable people out here with great advice to offer. This is my dilemma.

I have landed a job as a Trainee shipbroker here at one of a well-known firm with offices worldwide. All I can say is I do not know what I am going into..

I had asked a number of questions during the interview but things do seem to turn out as what I expected. The entertaining, the binge drinking, sleazy bars/girls, just to name a few are too much for me to handle frankly.

However, I don't wish to give up so easily. I am torn here. Should I just leave, pack up and leave? I hope I am not contradicting myself here.

Any advice welcome..flame away...

First, you should switch career path and write a book, you would make millions writing a book on how to get a job while knowing nothing about it !

Seriously, regardless whether you like the job or not, how did you manage to get a job in a field you know nothing about? Personal connections?
Second, you mention about packing... were you recruited from abroad and sent here or already here before that job? If you don't like the job, you can still hang on to it while look for another one here? why packing?

I don't think a life on the ocean waves is for you Nigel. Confused? Not half as confused as Kafka trying to make sense of your Singlish.

Try coming up with a more plausible story, and work on the grammar. Then we can really have some fun!
