No outdoor areas - well it is not finsihed and if you look at the plans and at what is being built there are 2 large sports fields/grassed areas waiting to be completed. They will open in March

Actually, just 1, on top of the car park.  They did decide to mow the only grassed area though, so I guess that's progress!

Parking - yes it annoys me having to walk 150m to pick up my kids, but I'm a lazy git.  Appears there are more.....

If you want to be lazy the are "unofficially" letting anyone park in the school at anytime....

Playground is a carpark - well sort of, but at least it is undercover, sheltered from all elements and has great play equipment.

Err...clearly we see very different play equipment!!!  1 slide and a climbing frame that you would have in your backyard at home...for 600-700 Elementary kids!!!  I guess the sand pit is good.  Pity there is no shade and the 1 slide is metal, so it burns the crap out of the kids.  A lot of the little kids hate it, so are going to the library instead.  That's a big problem I think.

Why not ask your kids if they like it, I don't hear any complaining there when I am at the school.

I know quite a few that hate it.  Guess it depends on the age, but certainly have heard a number of elementary kids hating it!

Didn't whine that the school took forever to build. In fact I was always quite happy where they were, as were they.  My children always had plenty of light, room and non of them were on top of each other.  Yes the auditorium, library and atrium are all fabulous but they aren't the nuts and bolts of it.  My child looks out on to a direct brick wall and the pod is tiny and bare.  When I called up to volunteer there wasn't even a chair there for me to sit!  In the other direction she looks directly over to another class. In the classroom there isn't enough room to swing a cat. Everywhere is BROWN an depressing and considering the building is new the toilets look as though they've been there since 1964! Yes indeed another school has taken my money as deposits have been paid.  Sad to say goodbye after many years but we didn't need to ask our children if they like it, they were very sad in telling us.

Don't even get me started on the outside areas and the pretend play area they say isn't a car park when it so clearly is!

As for no complaining ....... Lol, you must be going there when there's nobody around   Grin  Never heard so much negative feedback even on the official tour .....

It seems some people are not happy with anything - you complain about lack of facilities, then you complain about something else when you get them. What is the real problem?

If you had bothered to ask questions re the undercover areas - you would not be speculating and gossiping. I agree that the playground could be better - I hear they are looking into it. There are plans in the works for undercover areas as well - again this comes from the grapevine but I trust that the school will consider what is best for the kids - I genuinely believe that they do care.

Yes, it is not finished but the school was pretty upfront about that - I hear everything will be complete beginning March - which is not that far away and is pretty much what they told us last year.

CIS has always been a caring and supportive community and the new teachers they are hiring are great - I have not had a bad teacher in 5 years. They have a fantastic new high school principal to move the high school forward - he seems to have big plans and is very convincing if you go and hear him speak.

A classroom is a classroom - yes, the colour is boring but give them some time to inject a bit of personality. The pods are quickly filling up and looking good in elementary and middle school (have not been in high school recently). My kids are very happy with their classrooms and love their teachers - so I figure that all is well.
