Ant farm

I want to make an ant farm for my kids to work with and learn from.  Does anyone know how to get the components here in S'pore?  Has anyone done this?  Thanks

I bought an ant farm via mail order when I was living in the US. They send you the kit, with ants and instructions. It was pretty cool, but I can't imagine that a proper ant farm would make it past customs here. Online you may be able to find the kit sans ants. 

Alternately you can come hang out in my kitchen, Scoob.

I think I've seen them in Toys R Us (vivo) - not sure if they're as high tech as what you're looking for though.

Why thanks!  Although, I have plenty of my own.  A couple of years ago, I found one of the kits without the ants.  Here's a thought-if I want to "do it myself," how many ants would I need to catch. How do you know you're getting both sexes and can the worker ants produce without an established queen? This may be too much work, lol.

Try one of the fish shops in Sunset Way... or clementi (near the botak jones)... or a pet shop... they tend to stock these things...

i have an ant farm in my appartment, which multiply every second! why would you want an antfarm in singapore? just leave crumbs out or something sweet and you will get a farm for free!
