Hi Everyone,

I used to be a permanent resident of Singapore since 1995 until I migrated to Canada Toronto in 2009 and my PR expired while I was away and I forgot completely and I was busy working there. The main reason I went to Canada was because I want to get my passport, I still prefer Singapore way more than Canada and I will be submitting my application for the passport for Canada next month but I really want to get out here as I hate the winter.

I did contact ICA and they said I am no longer a PR. I really want to go back and try to look for work but this is going to be a whole new ball game as now I will go as a tourist there and not a resident  Sad

So I was wondering how some of you manage to go to Singapore on a tourist visa and manage to extend the visa more than one month. I am a web designer with over 4 years of experience and did my O levels, Diploma and Bachelors in Singapore.

Thanks
Tony

just get you butt on the plane and get here

Singapore is eager and literally begging for foreign talents to come and work and live here.
Once you secure a decent job offer, the rest of the stuff like work permit and PR status should be mere formalities.

Thanks for the reply. I am planning to come in Feb to try my luck. By the way I was looking through the PEP application and it seems much more convinient than getting the EP pass Ill definetely have to talk to MOM about this.

The poster above you had his tongue firmly in his cheek.

Depending on your skillset of course but it is harder to get a job her now as a foreigner and the Govt wants Singaporeans first and rightly so

If you qualify for PEP now, get it.  You don't need to come back to S'pore to apply.  You just need someone here to drop it at Singpost and have a local S'pore address.  Good for 5 yrs.  PR rejections way high right now, but with PEP and prior ed here, I would think after a couple of years you could get PR again.

Note: I am not a PR or citizen but do have PEP
