1. Wow, didn't realize freedom of speech was dead. Surely in Singapore it's not.

2. So how many of you are burning up your passports to stay (not the dual one leg in each country type with PR here and no commitment) and adopting citizenship here and here only. It's a great way to fly in'nit? Stay - it's paradise.

3. If a war broke out and Singapore got attacked - which one of you would flee? Like my PM asked - are you a stayer or a quitter?

Yeah, stop moaning, whining and bitching...Why? because when Asians go to your respective European, Western or Down Under  countries, we get discriminated...a lot...but we don't whine, etc...so, to you all -- shut up!...

wake up and embrace the real world!!!

That's it, innit. Singapore aint good enough for them, but here they are nonetheless, making good money and poking fun at Singaporeans and the government.

Be thankful that there are no yobos spitting on you and kicking you in the groin in some dark alley or lift landings.

But they know jolly well that their country is too good for you, and you are not welcome there, but if you do make it there some how, no one will stop the yobos of street and corporate thugs for stomping on you.

Enjoy you stay and make it worth your while. Singaporeans, justifiably, are your playmates because of the restrictive laws and lack of civil liberty that you've come to abhor.

Just wondering ... if you (WC) are interested to be invited to a local's home, why can you ask us nicely?   Just a simple question like "Would anyone out there like to invite us ...." would do.  My guess is that you couldn't resist another stab at poking fun at Singaporean, huh?

In the spirit of cultural exchange, I really don't mind opening up my home and inviting a few of you (even though you are total strangers) to share the joy of the festive season with us locals.  I was thinking that with everything being closed, for those of you who are out here alone with no families, three days of holiday can be dreadful.  I know because I was in Zurich from Good Friday to Easter Monday, and I was all alone and totally bored to death.

Now reading your comments, I really don't want to invite anyone home because I can't trust that you will have the good sense not to start a criticism of Singapore right there in my living room.  I can take criticisms, but no thank you, not on New Year's Day.

Most of the rich singers are leaving this land for greener pastures so it says something about living in Singapore.

Also, most of my work colleagues will be flying, driving, boating, taking the bus out of Singapore as they said it is very boring during CNY.

In my house on new years day it is an opportunity to discuss many things, some maybe be critical, some may be positive - thats the freedom of speech. I would be honoured to be invited to a True Singaporean household for CNY. Why do you think I would not be civilised and respect your household rules - isn't that prejudging me?
More than happy to invite you to my house too - in fact I would love it. Let's face it, in Singapore you need us as much as we need you, oh and want.

I cannot believe some of the  negative comments from you guys about Singapore - how small minded are all of you?? No wonder you haven't been invited into anyones house to celebrate - I am not Chinese or local and wouldn't have you in mine.....

We have been invited to a few peoples houses maybe because we appreciate living here, and celebrate the differences - and basically if you guys don't like it why don't you stop whining and get back to where you came from - no -one is making you live in lovely condos, have great weather, live in a very safe place - there are people queing to come here from most Western countries so that they can live in the lap of luxury like you (and I) are doing - so get over yourselves.

We have had some really hard posts and this aint it!

I recently took a new Job in Oklahoma City and found out that >40% of my pay increase is ripped off because I've gone up a tax bracket. Well I can't wait to split from the USA and move to Singapore. Tax is 10-15%.

STOP IT,

Not sure what is the message your are trying to send. You say many Asians are discriminated against o/s and keep quiet. Well drimination is bad but why keep quiet about it? It only makes those doing it more smug and cocky! Make a big noise and embarrass them. Don't take any discrimination quietly! You may say this is not the Asian way but some things require forcing, even quiet but persistent exposure and forcing to at least expose if not to change.

And same for expats in Singapore - they have every right to complain if discriminated against.

The way your post reads everyone discriminates and everyone should just accept it. i don't buy that and its generally not acceptable to most other people either.
