Maybe just maybe she is new to Singapore and is trying to find something she hasn't thought of...just as I am looking for something that we haven't already done...If I had lived all my life maybe I would know where all the cheap things were to do as I do in the town I am from and if you were to ever visit and ask I could give you a list as long as all of those rude comments...

Lots of armchair commentators who lack imagination or understanding for a pregnant mom!

I think you'll find it's because the rest of us just got on with it!
Apparently, "getting on with it" means being mean spirited and unhelpful, if the responses are any guide.

To be clear, I have not contributed to any of these "mean spirited" comments but I understand the sentiment.

Allow me to explain:

Many people disapprove of parents who have lost touch with how to engage with their own children through (over)use of a maid. Ergo, unless OP is fresh off the boat, her question is a bit worrying.
And, if so, better to help her with suggestions than to make unkind or unhelpful comments.
