Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anyone on this forum working for a bank can help me find a job/give any advice reagarding good recruitment agencies. Also what is the best way to network for bank jobs.

I am PEP holder, Canadian citizen, MBA from UK, and have 8 years expereince in commercial banking (credit underwriting and relationship management).

Singapore banking sector is undergoing consolidation at this time.
It would be easier to find a job in your native Canada or the UK.

...seem to be the few growth areas.  but you will be viewed as lowlife scum, even within the banking industry.

I have working experience in the west, which is valuable to ay employer here. How do I ensure I get the full expat package and not get shortchanged?

they are re-employing the younger cheaper hires as they are more naive and have more risk taking abilities due to their undeveloped Frontal Cortex Lobes

Another one. What is the value of MBAs? They are nothing but watered down specialised area of applied studies. I for one, focused on a particular field.

MBAs (and other MBAs degree wanabes) are fast becoming old fashioned nonsense from with roots from Harvard

Singapore employers tend to be thrifty in their compensation unless you come with exceptional skillset. So, if you can differentiate your skillset from the local pool, you can ask for the sky. But if you can't, then you find someway to showcase your skillset to the potential employer. An initial investment is worth it when the returns could be many folds.

My differentiating factors are: I am a westener, and English is my native language. That alone justifies a big premium, no?
