In short, there is no transparency in the entire PR granting process

my husband has a basic pay of 5k and comission around 2-3k/ month still our first application got rejected this month. it only says we regret your application is not successful and you can continue on ep and your wife may stay on dp . what could be the reason for rejection. My husband is a graduate and has been working here since 4 years..i have been married to him and moved here a year ago since then havent found a job although i have work experience back in india.really tough to survive here and pay so high rent with single earning .?

PR is tightening up as the govt has had lots of complaints from Singapore citizens about so many foreigners.

It is also thought there are unpublished quotas and in the last few years Indians have been getting PR too much - will be hard for an Indian to get PR for a good while.

How times have changed.
Back in 1995 I went to renew my EP and was told to apply for PR if I wanted to stay longer..!

I think there is also a big backlash vs foreigners in HR favouring people from their own country. Ask an India Indian HR manager for resumes for an opening and you'll get a disproportionate amount of India Indian candidates.

That is why you should never rely on HR as they are mostly a waste of space anyway never mind this type of antic.

Get the recruitment agencies to send you the applicants details direct or at least simultanaeously with HR

I don't know what kind of B grade company you work for that lets hiring manager conduct their own recruitment sourcing bypassing HR. Must be a local company where HR doubles up as the MD's PA and department admin.

Major MNC actually but who said anything about bypassing HR?

Just do not let them dictate who and which CV's to see - I am in a better position to outline my requirements to an agent/HH than HR.

I have never come across a decent HR department in over 20 years.

I guess Yeww must be a HR person?

If you listen to some on this board that would not keep them in the gold flaked toilet paper to which they are entitled.
