Received an email from Jetstar on take a friend for free promo. Attempted a booking for 4 passengers and it shows 2 paying passengers and 2 free passengers with a total of SGD360 one way. Upon being prompted to continue to passenger details, the amount jumped to 660 without any indication of any free passengers.

Called Jetstar thinking that if it is an error on the website then the customer service officer can assist. They acknowledge some website errors and can make the booking for me however instead of charging me what the website is quoting they need to charge me call center rates which is $20 more per passenger.  I argued that it isn't my choice to have them do the booking since I am perfectly willing to do it online but their site is not calculating the right fare (which they acknowledge) hence my need to go through the call center.

They refuse to budge! I asked to speak to their supervisor (who I could hear in the background feeding the information/answers to my arguments) and he refused to put her on the line.

Suffice it to say I am more than dissatisfied and frustrated!

The only thing these muppets MAY begin to understand is just to walk away...... but unfortunately the guys in the service centres get paid either way so don't care about the loss of passengers or fare income.

I am having a similar situation with HSBC's so called 'Customer Service' today as well.

I tried to book the Hong Kong take a friend for free flights, clicked on the link in the email, clicked on 'book now' next to the Hong Kong special, dates are in the sale range but can't get the free fare. It just shows the full cost for 2 people.  Huh
