Hi everyone,

This is my first post.  My husband and two young children and I will most likely be moving to Singapore on an expat package soon.  We will be bringing our two dogs.

I do not believe I want to employ a maid, as my kids (6 and Cool will be in school full-time and I am happy to take care of our house and will probably be bored if I don't (I don't have help here in the US).  My question is, when we go on vacations or home for a month in the summer, are there ways to find a dogsitter to stay in my home?

Kind of crazy that this is my one big question so far!  If anyone can enlighten me I would really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
I don't know about a dog-sitter coming home, but there are several kennels and private homes who can look after your dogs when needed.  We have 2 dogs and they both go to this lady who *** dogs at her house.  There are also a couple of big kennels, not sure if I can write down any names here (they will delete the post) but you can google...
All the best!

I have a part-time help who comes to my place once a week, to help out in the household choices. I know that she house-sit for another family, and look after the dog when they are traveling (seems quite often).

You might not be getting a full-time maid but if you plan to get a part-time help, you should chekc if she is willing and able to house-sit as and when you travel overseas as well.

As I mentioned, my part-time help is doing this for another family (not mine). However, I would believe that you should do your due diligence before you engaged the part-time help. That being said, my part-time help has a set of my house keys and she has not done anything to breach my trust in the past 2 years.
