I have a question about paint shades here.  I want a specific shade of blue and the painter i have says I can only pick from the paint books he has, these are the standard catalogues from nippon and ICI.   i want to know if there is a way i can choose from a larger variety, or even just pick the exact pantone colour and have that paint color done for me.  are there "paint stores" where i can just get a few gallons of the paint color i want, and just have a painter do the painting for me?  anyone have any experience with this?

Of course there are paint stores. Go to Balestier Road. Tell your painter you are buying the paint yourself and if he doesnt want the work, you will find someone else.

There was a Homefix in Marina Square which had a paint mixing facility - it's ages since I've been there though so I don't know if they're still there (if they have a website you could look it up - there might be other branches with the paint mixing).

Homefix also do a painting service which I did consider once but in the end I did it myself - again, if they've got a website, you might be able to find out more.

Most (if not all) the Nippon shops have a paint creator.
You can choose any color in the visible spectrum and they will make it for you on the spot.

All you need to do is select the type of paint.
