I don't believe in premonitions, etc but dreams can certainly reveal your state of mind. E.g. if you dream of falling, it may be that you are afraid of failing at something. When I have overslept, I dreamt of being late, which meant my subconscious was aware and trying to send a message to my brain to wake up...

But no, I don't believe that dreams can reveal the future. If that were true, I would now be Mrs. Pierce Brosnan.

If you're dreaming too much it means you're not sleeping properly since you are in shallow sleep for too long. That suggests you need to replace your mattress.

okay, neither do I believe actually. but the dream the other day was so vividly alive. Almost felt it being real, so I thought it could be something.

well, I am not sure myself, but so far Freud's theory is the most accepted one.
He says that in your dream you live out fantasies you cant in real life or go through stories that do tell you something.
However, this is done through a code, which is different for every person. An object in the story - lets say a table - does usually not mean a table, but whatever you associated with a table (ie. your grandmother that used to sit there etc.).
Now you have to identify what you associate with all the things that happened in your dream. To interpret it you really need a trained psychotherapist though and one that knows you very well, because the code is different for everyone.
The main thing is, the story you dream, does not tell you anything, it is just a cover for the hidden meaning, that you cant identify (and are not supposed to).

Dreams sometimes are nature's way of unconsiously telling you something.

I have dreamt several times of teeth falling out and going toothless.

Frustrated by what they meant, I finally went to my dentist where an x-ray showed that I needed a root canal immediately or lose my tooth.  The funny thing though was that I didn't feel any pain prior to the visit.

The way I look at it is that dreams are a way of your brain sorting out stuff that you've been doing and thinking during the past day or so.  If you really think about your dreams, you can usually pick out things that have happened in the dream and match them up with stuff you've been thinking.

For instance, if a person you haven't seen for years suddenly pops up in a dream and you think hard about it the next day - you will often find that you had been mulling over something that the person was connected with, if not the person themselves.

But I do believe that the major things in dreams (falling, drowning, being trapped etc), do have more meaning, but you'd have to check out one of the more sensible dream books about that (ie not one which thinks everything you dream about is related to sex........I read one once and one of the things I remember it saying was that if you dream about a matchstick or pencil or just about anything else of that sort of shape - it means a penis........totally weird and bizarre!!!)

this was what I actually dreamed of (kind of eerily uncanny feeling)..dreamt I was in my room (incidentally this was the room in my old house. Have been dreaming of this old house all the time, and I've shifted since 1996!). Then the story of how Jesus died etc. was being told like in a fairytale (no one was present to tell me, just like a voice from above) to me in my room. Then after that, there was a bright light coming in through my window (this was the part that I felt it happening so vividly real). The light was very bright (something like a flash of lightning, but it was so bright I almost felt it right through my whole person). It really felt SO real then. What do all these mean? Think I should try to decipher something from this

This is more a spiritual 'dream' or 'vision', have you been reading new age books, thinking about relegion or methaphysics? To me it sounds as if you are opening up spiritually, this is very often accompanied by very bright light, very vivid and real. Try to meditate if you feel it would reveal more to you. I feel you are on a very exciting journey, enjoy and take your time, these things can't be rushed. Keep a dreamjournal! Good luck. Remember fear is an illusion, don't give any power to it.

what is sweet f a?

hi 'light', no i have not been reading any religious books or anything (not even the bible I have to shamelessly admit. Each time I wanna try to but don't know how and too lazy. But quite a few people have been trying to get me to church which until now, I have yet to visit once). You know what I thought about this particular dream? I thought God is trying to call me 'home' this year or something. Afterall it occured on Jan 2 (new year). Just my feel. Of course shouldn't put too much connotation into a dream, but deja vu stuff happens sometimes. Perhaps I'm thinking too much.

dreaming of your old house I would say is because you were happy there.  perhaps you are not happy now, or at least, not as happy as you were back then.

As for the Jesus stuff and the light - are you religious? if you are, then religious thoughts would probably go on in your head more often than a non-religious person - even if you are unaware of them most of the time.

If you want to go to church, then go.  If you are feeling a connection between this dream and the fact that you want to go to church but haven't, then it is probably guilt making you dream of it.  But I definitely think the house bit is to do with a place you felt happy.

Dear...
This means "YOU" are the chosen one to lead the poor huddled masses to enlightenment beyond materiality and into a new spirituality.  YOU must do this.  YOU have been chosen by God to lead the blind, ignorant and fumbling people of Asia into a new millenium of sacrifice, education (but not oo much education) and achieving a higher level of aonement.
Let it be so....
