I am assuming it is to buy books or just to read books?

You don't need a Kindle account to buy books or read them - but you do need a computer. Many, many sites offer books in all sorts of formts; you need 'mobi' or 'epub'.

Now Google an application called 'calibre'. It will convert almost any format to suit a Kindle (but the above work better than pdf) and send the result to the reader. Very easy to use.

Send a message if you have trouble.

Happy reading,

Got mine when they first came out. I like the size and it works great for movies and TV series (can't stream those in Singapore tho). I already had an Amazon Kindle account so my book collection was already on the cloud and the ones I wanted downloaded onto the KT just fine. The game selection isn't great but they download fine here too as do all kinds of other Apps. Music can be downloaded too. If you don't have a US Amazon account though, your KT is just a paperweight. It doesn't work as smoothly as an iPad and tends to crash sometimes. For US$199, it's well worth it.

I am surprised you have a kindle as your reading comprehension is somewhat lacking.

Typical for our colonial cousins across the pond though with their lack of culture.

I haven't had any problems with mine at all. In what way doesn't it work?
