Hi
We are thinking of taking the family to Bangkok for a few days over Easter.  Kids are 10 and 5.
Has anyone been recently, and can give me a few tried and tested things to keep the kids happy?
We have heard about taking a cruise down the river and going to the palace.
We are of the mind that happy interested kids make for a better holiday!

Any tips on hotels?  We have been given  a few names of serviced apartment that look good (and quite reasonable!)
Siri Sathorn and the Ascott are names that keep cropping up.

thanks in advance.

Easter this year looks to fall on Sunday the 8th of April. The following Friday, the 13th, is the start of Songkran, the Thai New Year. Your kids will have a ball if you can join in the fun - google it, BYO water balloons and water cannons and prepare to sped the entire day drenched! Pickup trucks will just drive past you and douse you with pails of water. "Farangs" are favored targets, too, prepare to be singled out. It's a blast, if you laugh and roll with it you will have a truly memorable vacation. If this kind of scene makes you uptight, then my advice is to get out of Dodge before it starts.

Other than that, be prepared for HOT dry sunny weather this time of year.

Stayed at Four Points by Sheraton. Close to everything on Sukhumvit and close to Asok BTS. Hotel is new, room was pretty big, wifi is free in lobby. $110/night all taxes included. Great value for money for a holiday.

Thanks for the tips. Songkran sounds great - will take extra clothes!
I'll check out the hotel too.
Cheers
BB :-)
