That's an achievement for sure... however how many super-low wage workers are there? The auntie who washes the cups and does general cleaning at my office makes $700/month, what sort of living standard can one get on such a salary ?

Low unemployment. Mission accomplished! Pats on the back! Don't bother me with details like how an auntie is supposed to survive on $700 a month. If she's not smart enough to be born rich and connected too bad.

The problem here is that there is no alternative, people are forced to work in whatever manner they can even if they are old, sick or mentally deranged so the low % unemployment is not a measure of how well Singapore is performing.

What is global? Having elderly people working for peanuts because they are openly discriminated against?

Or were you referring to artificial unemployment figures?
