When I go to certain web-sites (ebay, Singapore airlines...) I keep getting a Notification message pop-up which reads "ShopAtHomeSelect is temporarily unavailable for Cash Back rebates. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please try again later." It's driving me nuts. I've no idea what it is and can't get rid or it. Spyware Doctor doesn't work. HELP PLEASE!!!

Go to www.download.com  and download the free Ad-aware 6.0 software.

You sound like you have spy software install on your PC.

If you use mozilla firefox browser instead of Internet explorer (apparantly microsoft have even admitted it is better than theirs!), it has a built in anti pop up device which makes surfing far more enjoyable & quicker.

Thanks to the advice on this topic and similar topic on ad/spy ware, I downloaded Spybot Search & Destroy and Adaware (both free!).  Spybot got rid of my specific problem in only a few minutes whilst Adaware found a whole load of stuff I would never have known was there - all now safely deleted.  Highly recommended!! Thanks so much.

There's really no need to go through all that hassle. Yahoo fixes it all!

Yahoo does not fix viruses or unwanted software on your PC. If you don
t believe me try download.com from download.com the software I downloaded. Maileet. This free software has the Adware180-solution virus and wow, it really messes you PC up. Yahoo would help, not even the pop ups.

If you download the MSN toolbar from msn.com, it has a tool to block pop-ups.

It's great.

I second Mozilla Firefox. It's faster to load, has less security worries and BEST of all has multi tab support so you can have multiple windows tabbed.

Give it a go, recommended.

If you use Windows XP. go to Microsoft.com and download the new SP2 which, among other things has a blocker for such pop ups.

XP SP2 has a load of programs that run great with normal XP but fail with SP2.

Basically, if yu want to be serious, forget MS updates, buy Norton Internet Security and then use Adaware and Spybot to get rid of those scumwares taking hold of your pc.
