Yeah all seems a bit odd how these threads turn into some big social commentary. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that childless couples are "more likely" to click together rather than those with children. Making friends is all about finding common ground and lets face it, children are a great starting point for that. That's not to say the childless and childfull shall never be friends - perhaps it's more about the fact that if you're making an effort to make friends, you wanna give it the best chance possible. So why even make a point of it - just join in and if you find out the person is a child-hater or a child-conversation dweller than you make your own choice about the subsequent dinner invitations.

The BBQ on Saturday was a great success. Nine couples turned up and we all got on really well and will definitely be meeting up again.
