Sorry Rob, the different genres of Electronica Dance is difficult to explain in words but here are examples:

ambient eg orbital, Brian Eno, KLF
drum n bass eg Lamb, Tricky & Squarepusher

garage eg artful dodger, azzido da bass, pier piper

house eg basement jaxx, Altern-8, Roger Sanchez

techno eg aphex twins, daft punk, dave clark

trance ef BT, jam & spoon

euro house (usual appeal to the bengkids) eg Sash, 2 Unlimited, most Italian house like Picotto Mauro

Hardcore eg Joey Beltram, Prodigy, SL2, Smart E

Nu Jazz eg Bartholomaus & Raabstein
styles crossover one another like tech-house and there can also be one style from different region like Detroit techno or Chicago techno. Confusing huh? Even the best of dance followers get their styles crossed.

Poppette said the magic word... Lamb.

Personally I go for heavy rock, drum'n'bass, and acid jazz. Combinations are especially appreciated. (Check out the latest by Tool)

Might I add Propellerheads and Red Snapper into the consideration by the drum'n'bass crowd?

PS: Do any of the Aussie contingent know of Rob D? He did "Clubed to Death" off the Matrix soundtrack. Love it dearly, but there appears to be no info available on him, other that being a part of the Aus spinning scene? Info?

I don't think we are talking about the different types of dance but the different syles of CLub Dance. U know, all that rave you hear at the clubs, nothing to do with chacha, lindy hop, square dance or the mash potato. Hahhaaaaa......

Here's what gets me on the floor:
Spiller
Jeremy Healy
Moby
Modjo
Tool
Aphex Twin
Squarepusher
Chemical Brothers
M People & don't s****er, S Xpress.

5. The Jam
6. Stone Roses

Rob,

I'm with you.  Not only do I need explaination of the dance step, but I need decoding of all these (alleged) bands and songs.

My life-box is getting smaller again.
