Yesterday, i was crossing an intersection in Siglap with my 2 kids (10 & 11) at a pedestrian crossing with the green man flashing,  one of my sons was 2-3 steps behind us.   A large SUV turned right and  into him (at slow speed)   and almost ran over his foot, he clearly didn't see him. I was a little panicked and gave the driver a hard stare and exasperated look.  I also chastised my son for not paying more attention.

At the other end of the crossing a local gentleman took exception and pointed out that my son was in the wrong because he hesitated and that we should learn Singapore rules. I am wondering what the outcome would have been here if the driver had infact hit my son or crushed his foot.  We are from Hong Kong and are not used to rule allowing drivers to drive through pedestrian crossings. As far was I was aware if the green man is flashing then you are safe to cross right?
