My experience in 2017

A few months prior looking for job. Two weeks pending for EP. Rejected. Asked for more documents. Ongoing appeal for almost two months.
Pretty depressing at times to be honest. Friends and family started asking questions. Savings are depleting. Wake up, check email, sigh, being useless all day, sleep and repeat.

Without internet I might gone insane already.

Many Singaporeans are out of jobs these days. Many, especially those in their 40s or 50s can't get good jobs.

"Unemployment rate for Singapore citizens lacklustre at 6-year high" - a headline read in a local newspaper last month.

Many of them are seeing their MPs and making complaints.

So, if I were you guys, try to stay in your own home country and get a job at home. Many of your country's economy is growing a lot more than Singapore's.

Hi,

Congrats. So, You got approval in 2 months. Am I right?

In that case, you are lucky. Because I am waiting for 7 months without any updates.

Can you please let me know, have you applied thru direct employer or consultancy?

Thanks

Directly with the employer. Graduated from one of the top U in my country, licensed and specialized in my industry with a unique portfolio. Still got rejected the first time and took almost 3 months.

Can't stress this enough, get another job while you wait ASAP.

Hi

Congrats Friend.. Thanks for your updates..
Is this new EP or renewal? Which industry and what technology?
Applied thru direct employer or thru consultancy?

Are you from India?

I am from India and currently in South Africa. My consultancy applied visa in August 2016 and still its pending.

So, surprise after seeing your post.

Do you have any idea about the long pending EP's and how mom is approving EP's  now in 3 - 5 days?

Could you please check with your agency whether they have any idea?

Please please..

Thanks

New EP.
I'm working in Finance. my colleagues are Finance too. My company is from US, quite a huge MnC. The company arranges an immigration agent to do so.

I'm from Malaysia. And I think it highly depends on the company, I think?
I have never heard anyone in my company that needs longer than a week for EP to Singapore.
The ratio of local vs foreign is strictly maintained in our company- so I think this helps.

My agent told me that MoM official timeline is 2-3 weeks approval so actually I'm quite surprised seeing everyone here waiting for months, while I get anxious after 3 days for not getting it like others in my company.

I wish you good luck! The wait has to be bad feeling...

Oh and also, I'm still within the same company. Just changing roles/relocating, got better offer/promotion, changing legal entity.

This probably speed things up as well? Since technically I'm still their employee and maybe less things to check? Honestly I wish I can be more help but I don't know much..
