Hello,
I have a question for SAP professionals in Singapore.
What are the rates for contracts and salaries for permanent employment?
I was approached by LinkedIn for a contract in Singapore.
The info I had the salary will be based on +- $1000 per day rate.
Which is ok for me, as it’s like rates I have now in Europe – about 600€ per day.
Even more in fact – 650-700€ for experienced SAP consultants,
But it’s ok for me to charge less, as I’m really willing to relocate.
Now,
The agency transferred resume etc …

NOW, the most important part:
… and here is what I do not understand…  Huh

When I search for jobs locally, I find only jobs at max $10000 per month,
Which is much less than $ 20000 for a 1000 per day contract?
(As I understood rates are only for info, as in reality, anyway, you have to pass by a payroll company,
no freelance possible in Singapore)
My question is:
What are the rates +- for a 10 years’ SAP senior Consultant, or in general,
In per day contract based or on ermament?
Is the gap Contract / fixed really so big ?

Thanks,
Regards,

Plenty of SAP people from the sub continent with more experience than you have and are happy with half that you want.  10000 is BIG money

thanks, Ah Beng,

So, the real market is like $500 per day =  $10000 per month for Contract.
and half, or a little bit more -  $5000 - $7000 for permanent.

There is no contract market in Singapore like there is in Europe.  You cannot come here and work without an Employment Pass.  The employer applies for an Employment Pass on your behalf, typically justifying why he needs a foreigner, there are quotas for employers and jobs.

Competition is fierce, that drives down the salary.  Many jobs specify Singaporeans or PRs only.
