Hi All

Need some ideas for team building events or fun night out with some competitive activities. Most of our staff at work are early to mid 20's. Previous popular event was a darts night, but we want to do something different. They like to compete, but I really have very limited ideas as to what is available in Singapore. We've done paintball as well and that was hugely popular by about half of the team and the other half complained about being hit Sad

One thing Ive found that looks somewhat promising is Mini Golf (LilliPutt?). Would love some ideas, please! Some things we've done in my home country is rent a boat and do a 3 hour cruise around with nice food, dancing, and I guess in Singapore if we could have karioke it would be good.

You're right, it's all boring.

1. Hire a room at the casino and play strip poker.

2. Hire a stripper, everyone get totally wasted and then become legends when you get thrown in the slammer.

3. Hire Moe Alkaff, that guy can rock a party 'til the early light.

4. If you want to make it dull, invite the locals.

5. The rubber blow up doll party theme will create wonders!

I can never understand what "team building" is all about unless of course you belong to a small group whose lives depend on each other. Then you have to have a close relationship and each unquestionably knows their own position in the hierarchy of command. Companies which are struggling to grow have no time or inclination for such an activity being preoccupied with survival. Companies which are successful and established international companies with stability would, I imagine, encourage such an activity to counter industrial unrest or to weed-out any individuals. But it remains a condescending activity and if you tell others you meet that you are on a team-building jolly they may well step back in confusion or disbelief. So know it for what it is and do something expensive, a good restaurant or if you have some attractive colleagues a beach volleyball game in Bali. Cool

I have the same issue. Try and come up with something every 3 months and trying to please all of the people all of the time... well it aint easy.

Some of our more successful forays..

1) Tree adventure course at bedok reservoir park.
2) Mangrove canoeing at ubin
3) 5 a side football at turf city
4) Luge at Sentosa
5) Indoor parachuting at Sentosa
